I'm a first time Toyota owner and I had a couple bluetooth questions. How do you adjust volume or turn off the incoming call ringer through the car speakers? I would like my phone to ring so I can mute it when my daughter is sleeping.
Also, can anyone tell me how to transfer contacts from my verizon iphone 4 to the car phonebook so that when a call comes in, it shows the name of who is calling and not the number?
From my Iphone, there's a screen that comes up whenever a call comes in or when I make a call that shows different ways to use the phone. It's set to something like "multi-car media" now. But there will be other bars like "phone only" and another one. You can set the phone to "phone only" but then you'll have to pull over to talk. I don't think you CAN adjust the volume of the in car ringer. Either that way or yurn off the bt feature in your Sienna and get s bt headset and use that exclusively.
The phone address thing is, sadly, a manual input thing. You have to manually input EVERYTHING pertaining to your phone contacts into the car.

Ringer volume is easy: during an incoming call, use the steering wheel volume buttons to adjust the ringing volume to whatever you want.
Sorry but I don't know the answer to your contact transfer question. As someone else said, it may not be possible. When I test drove a new Sonata, it automatically read all the contacts from my Droid with no action on my part.

I'll help you out with contacts transfer question. I have an iPhone 4 too, but sadly there is no way to transfer your contacts to the van's phonebook using the iPhone 4. If you have another phone, possibly your last phone before your iPhone (doesn't have to have a current plan, it only needs to have Bluetooth capability), you can use it to transfer your contacts. I used my 5 year old LG Verizon phone and transferred my contacts over with no problem. The big advantage to transferring your contacts via Bluetooth is that your contacts will be named. If you enter them manually, they'll all say "NO NAME". I hope this helps.
If there is a way to mute the ringer, I'd like to know as well.

That's a great idea, roemer. Also, I had the chance to play with the call answer feature. I found out that when you get an incoming call, the radio will mute a second before the ringing actually starts. That gave me enough time to manually press the answer button thus bypassing the ringer. And Daniel is correct, you can use the volume control to adjust the call volume.

Good observation with the radio muting just before the ringer starts. Problem is, our van is still new to us and I'm always startled when my phone rings Just as panic sets in because all three kids are asleep in the back, I remember to push the off-hook button. Once I get over that, my kids shouldn't have to wake up when a call comes in. Thanks.
LOL!!! I've been through that startled kids thing so I know what you're going through. But luckily, they got used to the ringer in the van. And , yw, always glad to help.

...I press "answer" and say "hello". The caller never hears me until I say it again. Is it just me?
No it's not you. It's all of us. The BT takes about a half second or so to link up with your phone. I just wait for the other person to say something first.

Yep, same thing. My wife is used to it (her daily driver), but I'm not because in my car it's an instantaneous connection.
