Entune will be available. Power passenger seat on XLE, Auto headlights on XLE.
I hear you on the plastic dash, although I think its fine for a minivan. Whats wrong with the leather seats?
Thank you for the response. I am glad that you are from MA too.
I am only asking to know of the improvements in the 2012 model. People in some reviews complained about leather in the leather seats being of medium quality in a limited model, plastic dash being very plastic etc.,
I have a growing family and thinking this sienna route from 2010 Highlander for a while but with no success for used 2011 sienna xle or limited after trading in my 2010 Highlander SE model.
Negotiations with the dealers scares me now especially I have a trade-in.
It sounds like you haven't seen one yet? Seems like making your own opinion would be the route to go....everyone sees things differently. My wife is quite happy with the leather/dash in our Ltd. She's had Lexus and Acura before and while the dash is a hard plastic, she thinks it looks good in the Bisque/wood-ish color combo. She didn't like the gray at all.
I don't know how anyone that ever needs a 3rd row could live with a Highlander. We shopped one until we opened the hatch...you can barely fit a bag of groceries behind the 3rd row. Pretty much ever other SUV with a 3rd row i've owned/driven has more cargo space. My Pathfinder has twice as much room and it still won't hold all of our groceries let alone a trip to sams club. Minivan can't be beat for space unless you're talking about a Suburban and then it still isn't as convenient.

The best "review" is your own. Stop by a dealer to see and drive the van yourself. I don't believe there is a vehicle on the market which does not have a complaint online to be found, so take them with a grain of salt.
Keep in mind that the van was just overhauled for 2011, and is selling very well. I wouldn't expect any major changes until at least 2014.
If you wanted to take advantage of a 2011 before the '12s get here, we have 0% finance or 1k cash back.

Apologies if I've posted this before (ditto if you don't care now!): We were underwhelmed by the hard plastic dash when shopping, but now that we've had the vehicle for a while, we really don't notice it *at all*. The leather seats seem OK, but they sure aren't butter-soft hand-rubbed beer-fed more-hyphenated-adjective leather like a really high-end luxury car.

I would agree with that. It's not high-end leather by any stretch but it's not bad either. The leather in our GX470 was smoother/softer and also stained easier and was generally a lot more upkeep. Our previous Odyssey had a more utilitarian leather similar to the Sienna (but not as attractive) and with twice as many miles and brats...it still looked terrific when we sold it. I don't recall the Highlander having particularly better leather seats. Of course this is coming from someone that doesn't really like leather seats anyway. I special ordered my Pathfinder with every option BUT leather. But with kids in the van 90% of the time...I'll go with leather. The few times I've had Kids in mine...I've got cheesy-doodles smooshed into my cloth seats.....but I still prefer sitting in them over leather.

The kelly blue book trade value of your car is the same thing you can buy a new Highlander se for....doesn't make much sense...
And the kelly for the new 2011 Sienna is a grand over invoice, are you willing to pay that???
Kelly and edmunds seem way high on everything! lol
The city tax would go down faster I do believe, since next year technically it will be a year old car not a new one.
So what to do? What is the price I should accept for my car? Everybody talks that they got a KBB value for their car. Please guide me..
I have 2010 SE Highlander in excellent condition, security alarm, automatic start for winter heating purposes, toyota blue tooth, road block paint protection film on hood, back and front bumpers, head lights and mirrors. What should I expect? Please guide me. Only asking you this because your username suggests that you may be working at Toyota
Yes I do work for Toyota, so I'm happy to help you out here....
To be realistic, you have to consider what the dealer could sell your car for. Obviously they cannot sell your used Highlander for the same price as a new one.
Off the top of my head we could probably SELL your car for $31,000 or so. Now clearly the business need to make a profit on this sale, considering all the time and effort put into this transaction. Factoring in recon costs, certification costs, listing and advertising fee's, I'd want to pay you $27,500, and put an asking price on it for $32,999.
Now that's a huge loss for you to take, seeing in that you probably payed in the 33-35k range, but thats first year depreciation for you.

Many thanks
I would try to sell it myself 1st for $30K and see if there is any call. You know trading it in is going to get a hit.

Agree with GPP. Sell it yourself but get a tuneup and fix anything that needs fixing and save the receipt to show the prospective buyer. Also wash and detail it for maximum results. Have you saved all repair/replacement receipts as well? Helps in persuading buyers you took care of the Highlander. Good luck!

More to come!
Trade-in will offset the sales tax in MA, so $27,500 = $29,200 toward the new vehicle. Is working that hard to get an extra $800 (if you're REAL lucky) worth it? Never in my book. Anything over $20k is rarely worth the effort of a private sale. I'm a pretty good salesman too. I once sold a lightly used Mitsubishi Galant V6 (prem stereo, tinted windows, etc.) to a convent of nuns. Can't make that @#$% up!! Paid cash too.
