SE GRILL PART NUMBER...here it is!

Well, after getting confused on searching for the upper grill online in which was priced for around $50 (turns out to be the upper grill base) from Toyota Dallas...I went ahead to my local dealer to get the p/n and price and also to see their schematics.

P/N 53101-08120 LIST PRICE $234.72

So if any of you guys come across a cheaper price, go ahead and post here.

Also, here is the link to the schematics from toyota dallas that I JUST FOUND

http://www.toyotapartsales.com/partl...layCatalogid=0

For piece #5 (upper grill base), does anyone know which model that comes in BLACK? I saw one of the dealer passenger vans w/an all blacked out horizontal grill along w/that upper grill base black as well.....UPDATE: never mind, it's the BASE model that has an ALL BLACK GRILL

I wonder what the car would look like if I just replaced that piece in black and left my limited grill silver/chrome

ANOTHER QUESTION, what exactly is that distance sensor? Would my car have it? 2011 Limited AWD w/PREMIUM and CONVENIENCE PACKAGE?

Yes, that's what that is. It's the way to tell a Limited with AT (Advanced Technology package) from one without -- in 6.5 months, I've seen exactly *ONE* other with.

Correctamundo!!! Those are the horns. FYI, the horns have a metal cover over the trumpets, they can be taken off very easily. Makes the horn louder... Just sayin'...

Found more info and schematics..I guess you can split the lower base grill w/the upper base grill.

http://www.villagetoyotaparts.com/sh...&searchString=

So if you want to keep it chrome or get it black, the part numbers are shown.

I guess if you want just the honeycomb it is p/n 5311108070. If you want that bottom lower chrome piece to be ALL BLACK it is p/n 5311408010 (this one you might need to correct me, and if it's seperateable from the original grill, you can then reuse your old chrome piece for the honeycomb or viceversa.)

Looks like the chrome accent piece is a snap-on deal.

Well, I went ahead and got the whole grill assembly for the SE, didn't bother w/the black bottom piece. I figured it may be a pain to remove that accent piece and didn't want to deal it if it turns out to be a piece that needed glue, etc. If it turns out to be an easy piece to remove, I'll just PLASTIDIP it.

Bought it from toyotapartsoutlet.com.....although not cheaper than toyotasalespart.com but the shipping (9.99 vs. 21.00) was much better. Save about $10-$15 overall.

The grill is here! Will update sometimes next week once I get the time to remove the grill and install. Hopefully it's as easy as what BIGGOLDFISH says, pop the upper tabs and pull out.

Pop up the middle parts of the tabs, like a turkey timer. Keep all of them. And remove the rubber stops and save those as well. Gently pull towards the front of the van horizontally, not vertically or at a diagonal.
