Guys, I am really naive with all this. Could somebody kindly educate me on these suspension systems?. What is the difference between SE and others for eg., limited. I know one thing is that SE stands for sport but what does it have and what we do not have. I have never driven a sport version car at all as well and hence trying to learn about this.
IIRC, an SE version of a vehicle is for Sports Edition. That means it has less ameneties and a stiffer, harsher ride due to stiffer suspension ratings and stiffer tires. Some people like the stiffer ride but also want the luxury items so they mod their cars with stiffer shocks and suspension components to give them better cornering abilities and grip the road better. HTH.

Now, I got it. Thanks.
When you say stiffer ride, does it mean they are bumpy rides?

The best analogy I can provide is like you driving a BMW 3 series to a Mercedes M class. The BMW is more responsive to steering and you can feel the road differences very well while in the M class, the bumps and road are more isolated for a smootehr ride and the throttle response is just a bit longer than the BMW.

Now how do you go about getting the SE steering? That's the real kicker for me.
Don't know if you're kidding or not, skinny. But I'll answer anyway. You can swap out the control arms, suspension setup, wheels and tires, add bigger torsion bars and upgrade your brake setup. I think...

I'm talking more about the calibration of the actual steering feel. The SE is tuned a little heavier and more linear through the speeds. The others feel too loose until you get into higher speeds and really feel bad decelerating quickly into a turn. It's listed straight in the specs on the SE "Sport Calibrated Electric Power Steering". I'm not sure what the real differences are...mechanical or programatic.

Skinny, I'm far from being a tech or mech. But your point is very valid. I do think it's a bit of both. You mentioned the other models have a heavier steering feel during higher speeds. That usually includes the speedo, the car computer and the steering box. SoI would hazzard a guess that the programming for the Se's steering is heavier for a better road feel. Along with the mechanical aspects, that will give you the "SE" feel.

Do you guys know how much lower the SE model vs let's say XLE (FWD) is??
Im considering either a SE or XLE FWD version (leaning toward the SE version), but I live in an area with lots of steep drive ways and parking lots. Does the SE model clear majority of parking lots/steep drive ways?
A few of the local dealerships don't have an SE model to look at yet, so I can't compare them yet. They are waiting for 2012 to roll in.

An SE has a lower clearance stance due to the body molding and SE body kit. You may have trouble accessing ramps and driveways. But you can always approcah the ramp at an angle to decrease the chance of damage.
