Hi All, I'm a new user to the forum and just bought an SE model. Love everything about it and worth every penny!
Stock tires are 235/50-19, and I'm looking into getting winters.
Question is what size to get? If I keep the stock size, I can imagine not only is it expensive, but also a limited selection of tire makes.
I was thinking of downsizing it to the base model stock size 235/60-17, but will it fit? I.e. does anyone know if the size of the brake rotors are larger on the SE?
Another question is, the tire shop guy also recommended going to skinnier tires 215/65/17. He says this size is more common vs the 235/60-17 making the price lower and increased selection of makes.
Thoughts from the community?
Thanks a lot!

i put nokian hakkapelitta R's 235/55r19 and they are AMAZING winters.......
we have put 235/60r17's on SE's and they fit no problem depending on which wheel you pick...... 215/65r17 is toooo thin for the size of the sienna. It will be fine when your going straight at 50km/h but if you take a on/off-ramp doing 60+, you'll feel it. It will be unstable.
I didn't swap 17's....... I've installed lots of 17's on customers cars. Mine is an se and came with 19's. They are currently getting powder coated matte black. Will have pics soon. The 17's are defiantly cheaper, but in my opinion, they look tooooo small on a sienna
Looking forward to your pics with the powder coated matte black.
I couldn't afford 19" as winters, if so i would have gotten TRD rims for summers and the stock SE rims for winter. But the Michelin xIce on 235/60r17 will do on my SE for now.

Hi POPP,
Just wonder did you see anyone use P235/65R17 on his Sienna before? I'm also live in Calgary, found the Wal-Mart only carry that one instead of P235/60R17...

Thanks!
I would not recommend that size as it's more than 3% larger than the stock size. Seems like an excellent reason to shop ANYWHERE besides walmart for tires.

Hi skinny2,
Thanks for the helping, I thought the 3% larger from stock is still much smaller then a 19" tire, the Sienna should be able to handle it well, right?

No a 235/65-17 is 30mm larger than a 235/50-19. Can it handle it? Probably...but I can't confirm. There's the possibility of rubbing when turning anytime you go with a larger tire.

What do people recommend for snow tire pressures vs. the all season tires? My 2011 LTD suggests 35 psi for the all seasons. I'm running Michelin X-Ice 225/65/17 for the winter.
Thanks for your help!

You might just want to play with it. i started at 35 with the Blizzaks and it felt squirrelly on the highway and a little rough. Ended up at 32 front and 30 rear and it's quite a bit better. Michelins will obviously be different. I'm more interested in performance/feel than wear....
