Clear Main't Req'd light

It's not working by:

1. the Camry method (holding down the ODO button w/key in "on"
2. the dealer told me the wrong way (see #1)
3. the forum method isn't working (see #1)
4. can't find it in the manual (when the dealer couldn't do it, he said look in the manual)

Thanks,
Droffats

Disconnect battery and pull the ECU fuse for 1 minute.

I know that will work, but isn't there something easier? I mean, the quickie lube guy isn't doing all that...

It's in the manual. I changed out our oil at 5k and found the reset instructions. It was some combination of pushing the start button and holding odo button on mine but I don't recall the exact procedure. There were several pages because it's different between the smartkey and non-smartkey. On my previous Tundra you had to turn key to acc then push odo button and hold while turning key to on.

Ah HA! The odometer has to be on "trip A". Hold it down, then move the key to "on". It clears in just a few seconds. It is in the manual after the oil change section (it's not in the index though).

Thanks,
Droffats

It will show the clearing dashes in the combination meter, or the center multi function display depending on which model. Both types need to be on trip A FYI.
