3rd Generation 2011 Sienna battery issues

Hi all,

My wife and I purchased our 2011 Sienna back in April and love it!

However, recently, we were returning home from a long road trip to Ontario and stopped in W Virginia to feed our baby. We had our van shut off and the doors open and also had the accessory power on to run our cooler.

After 10-15 mins, I went to start the van(Smart key), and pushing in the start/stop button produced a grinding sound like you would hear when the battery is dead. This surprised me as I thought the van had battery run down protection and that we only had the cooler plugged in for 15 mins.

I did get a jump start from roadside assistance and noticed that the battery in the Sienna does not seem to be of the heavier duty type(in my opinion).

Has anyone else run into issues with their battery??

Thanks!

No issues here. In fact our 07 Tundra is almost 5 years old and still has the original battery. This is amazing battery life in AZ. So our 07, 09, and 11 Toyotas are all trouble-free, batteries and otherwise.
