Child Seats

Hello everyone,

I have a question regarding the safety of using 2 infant seats rear facing in the 3rd row? I have triplets 3 months and a 2 year old. The concern is with the 2011 sienna there is only 1 anchor or latch behind the 3rd row seat. The other child seat installed in the 3rd row would have to secured with the seatbelt. Any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated. thanks

This is covered in the owner's manual. You should will be just fine as long as you install them correctly. Consult the Sienna ownerr's manual and the manual for your carseats.

I've used greico seats for infants and toddlers and they do just fine without the latch system. They come with straps that can be used to tie the seat bases down on the seats and I used the seatbelts for extra measure. What I did was tie off the beat belt by making a knot near the latch where it clicks into the receiver. That way the belt will not loosen and the worst thing is a slightly deformed seat bottom. Better to have a deformed seat than a hurt child. I have a five year old who sits in the back with a boosted seat and a two year old behind me in a toddler's front facing seat. I used the strap that came with the toddler seat to loop over the seat back and hook up to the security catch that's part of the seat. Then I used my tied off belt method to further secure the seat to the carseat. I don't mind the squished cushions as long as the kids are safe. HTH.
