LATCH Limits

Recently purchased a new car seat for my daughter, a Diono seat that allows the use of LATCH up to 80lbs. The caveat to that is the if your vehicle supports those limits. The owners manual makes no mention of a limit for the LATCH system and my dealer has no clue. My daughter is only 20 lbs so IF this ever becomes a question it will not be for a long time, but does anyone know the limit on Toyota's LATCH?

You can always use LATCH + seat bell.

I believe that latch is part of body frame and should support 80lbs. The weakest point will be seat belt connecting to latch or any type of non-standard install or unsecured belt that may give away during violent turn, bump, crash or rollover...
