I purchased the Husky Weatherbeaters through kbcarstuff. Took about a week to be delivered.
5 mats were ordered in total:
- Drivers side mat
- Passenger side mat
- 2nd Row mat
- 3rd Row mat
- Trunk / behind 3rd row mat
It only came in 4 boxes. The Front Driver & Passenger mats came in one box. Boxes were not heavy.
When I was looking at purchasing a set of mats for my Sienna, there weren’t too many options, but the only ones that provide a pre-cut/formed mat for our vehicles were:
- Weathertech
- Husky
- Hexomat
I can’t say that I’ve tried any of the others so this review is only based on my experience with the Husky Weatherbeaters for just over a week.
I chose the Husky’s for a few reasons:
- Price: in the end, came out a little bit cheaper than the Weathertech’s
- Style: I’m not a fan of the Hexomat style as it is more difficult to clean versus the Weathertech/Husky version.
Appearance
The grey color fit very well with the interior of the Sienna’s light grey interior. The styling made it look OEM. The cut of the mats were pretty much bang on based on the
Fit
The Husky’s fit very nicely within the space provided.
1st row – the mats fit very nicely in both the Drivers and Passenger side.
2nd row – the mats form very well around and in between the 2nd row seats.
3rd row – the fit in the 3rd row
- Allows for no movement of the 2nd row seats back and forth.
- Prevents the centre console from moving back and forth. However, the mat can be cut to accommodate for this movement.
- Unlike the Weathertech’s, there is no hole for the mat hook on the drivers side mat. I haven’t experienced any shifting anyways as the mats have pretty sharp and long spikes holding it in place.
- I really liked the fact that it also covered the area between the 2nd row seats for 7-pass models. It also tucks tightly between the two middle row seats so that little should be getting in between the seat and the mat.
Quality
- I’m not quite certain what the mats are composed of but they are guaranteed for life and I have no doubt about them lasting for at least the life of the vehicle.
- Thickness of Rubber is decent. As I had mentioned before I kicked it a few times already when entering the vehicle. The mats were not very heavy though. I have had some generic mats that were heavier but the plastic/rubber was softer on the mats.
- I had some generic mats that I was using where the rubber was softer however, I think in time that the softer the mat, the more it would wear.
- The pattern or raised embossing on the mat doesn’t do much in terms of keeping the slush, mud, etc. on the mat from getting onto your pants. With some generic mats, the grooves are much deeper which prevent this from happening.
- I have no doubt that these mats do extremely well in preventing debris, snow, etc. from getting on to the Sienna’s carpet. However, when entering the vehicle, I find that sometimes my shoe catches on the side of the mat causing it to lift. If there were snow, I would imagine that it would then get under the mat, but as I mentioned before, the spikes hold the mat in place pretty well even if you do kick it upon entry.
Ease of Installation
Overall, installation took less than 10 minutes for everything. The only row that I had to fiddle around with was the 2nd row.
Front row – very simple installation.
2nd row – the plastic of the mat is a thick which makes it a little inflexible. Further, you need to move the seats back in order to easily place the mat down. Then you need to move the seats back up so that you can get the 3rd row mat in.
Price /Value
- Based on what there is currently in the market, I think that these are priced competitively given the other “custom mat” alternatives.
I think the price may be certainly higher for the weathertech ones. But, at the moment, I think most of us stopped buying these mats because sliding the 2nd row cars seats back and forth completely is limited due to the current design of these mats. Of course, the mats are designed based on the vehicle...
I wish they made a mats where we can slide the 2nd rows without any obstructions...
bincent: Great review, pictures, and videos of the Husky Weatherbeater liners! I'm glad to hear that overall you are happy with the product!! Thanks for taking the time to put such a detailed review together. I'm sure it will greatly assist other forum members in making decisions on how to best protect their vehicle's interior.
The price of upgrading the front, 2nd row, third row, and trunk is $299. WeatherTech Liners would be approx $340 for the same coverage.
Are the Husky liners meant to be placed on top of the existing mats? There does not seem to be a hole in the driver's mat to accomodate the latch. Weather Tech liners appear to replace the existing mats.

Just as an FYI... the mats in the pics above are actually sitting on top of an OEM carpet mat. So thats why the mats look like they are sitting a little higher than they should be.

I noticed that from the videos too. Did you end up removing the OEM mats eventually?
Just curious about the latch (not sure if that is the right term) that clips on to the driver's side OEM mat. The Weather Tech liner has a hole to accomodate the latch. The Husky does not appear to have a hole. If you removed the OEM mat, how does that Husky liner sit on the latch sticking up from the floor? Does it fit into one of the groves on the liner?
