Door Remote

Yesterday I started my van to let it warm up before getting in it. When I went to open my side door with the remote it wouldn't. Is this a safety feature?

i don't think you can open doors with remote when the car has started, I haven't tried it myself but can give it a shot later today to find out.

unless you are referring to using a smart key from outside of the car, that I won't be able to replicate as I have a SE with the old fashion key and fob

I'm also a SE. I'm going to retry today.

No luck. As long as its running the remote doesn't work.

same here, i think once your car started, it will not take command from the RF remote anymore so doors will not suddenly open either by mistake or interference from outside.

FWIW, I just tried it and the remote didn't do anything. Like Wishy said, it's a safety and security measure. I kinda like it this way.
