Differences between Sienna XLE and Limited

Can someone please point out for me the main differences between the Sienna XLE and the Limited? I know I can get side-by-side comparisons, but I would really just like to know what the differences are. Thanks.

In 2011,

1. You will get packages like HID not available in XLE,
2. Bi-colored leather seats not available in XLE,
3. Not so sure about wood grain, but may be available only if you take the Nav/tech package which allows to get smart key, and Nav and rear DVD entertainment.

Lazy much?

The only reason we bought Ltd: Blizzard Pearl

There's a lot of other bits that you get/can get with LTd too:

-Double moonroofs
-6-disc CD changer (not even sure where it is...who uses CD's??)
-Power 3rd row seat (PITA)
-Advanced Tech pkg
-HID headlamps/rain sensing wipers

Lots of other little things too. I'm too lazy to remember them all.

We went for the Limited for the rear recliners (my wife has a very bad back, and on long trips those will allow her to get some relief [yeah, yeah, "don't drive with those reclined", I know]) and the AT package. The adaptive cruise is my favorite toy. I had thought I was done buying new cars -- for a decade or so there didn't seem to be anything worth the premium a new vehicle commands -- but AT definitely qualfiies. I'm still waiting for the opportunity to drive a non-Limited and see if I can feel the VDIM in action; our dealership is located on a circle of dealerships, so I can push a bit and see if it feels squirrelly. I've written before how my 2000 Camry felt "exciting" taking a particular ramp at 45, and how I can take the same ramp at 50 in the Sienna and it's *not* exciting. I dunno whether that's VDIM, but hope to find out (preferably without wrecking the dealer's demo!).

It is 4CD and not 6 right? I can only load 4 in my nav system

Power third row for FWD only.

I dunno, I was just going by the specs from what I recall. If the NAV is DVD based it may take up two of the slots. Considering the wonky way the NAV works (picking regions) I'm guessing it is DVD based. I've never tried loading a cd.

Yes, with LTD you get a 4-CD changer. It's behind the nav screen -- you push a button and the screen moves up and out of the way. Kinda glitzy, not my favorite feature, as I can see it failing after the warranty and being expen$ive. Anyway, the DVD for the nav loads back there, as do the 4 CDs. And you can always put a CD in the DVD player if you have it. But yeah, I bought a 16GB tiny thumb drive and hardly use CDs any more!

I do recall seeing that behind the screen now that you mention it. Our '05 Ody had the nav screen that folded out of the way to load CD's as well. We actually did use CD's back then so it was opened every now and then and worked flawlessly when we sold it last year. Funny to have things you never use...I'm not a fan of moonroofs and such but my Pathfinder came with it. My wife borrowed it one day and came back complaining how noisy it was with the moonroof open and wanted to know how I could put up with that. I realized I had never even opened the moonroof since buying it new....I told her I had never noticed.

I wanted the Blizzard Pearl, HID, and smart key; but I like the handling and looks of the SE. I am pisst Toyota doesn't even offer that as an option on the SE.

16GB tiny USB sticks on sale this week at Staples

Just happened to notice that the Relay brand tiny USB sticks are $15 this week at Staples. I like them because they're SO tiny that I don't worry about catching something on them and snapping it off (or, worse, destroying the USB port).

I'm not a Staples employee, investor, or particular fan, but these are winners, and that's a decent price.

Also:

Satin chrome exterior trim
Whip radio antenna replaced by in-glass
Front parking sensors
Keyless start standard
18" wheels standard
Optional rain-sensing wipers and automatic high-beams

Not sure:

Heated seats/windshield
Power 3rd row window tilt
Safety Connect standard
Additional sound deadening/suppression material
Better short-term resale value (percentage-wise)
Less "buyers remorse"

ISTR that only the LTD gets the power vent windows in the rear, which is what I believe was being referred to. A sucky choice on Toyota's part -- the vents are basically useless otherwise, unless you wan to pull over to open/close them.
