Installed new Alpine INE-Z928HD 8" head unit

Just want to share the new head unit I just installed yesterday. This is the newest Alpine INE-Z928HD 8" head unit. So far they do not make a kit for this radio yet but I had a kit modified so it would fit. Haven't really gotten to play with it too much but I'm just glad I got rid of the stock garbage radio.

I saw this at the stereo shop today. It's a nice real nice unit. Looks huge next to a 7" screen.

I'm guessing he had to remove the shift knob to get the Nav in.

Did you install it yourself or have it installed? How difficult was it to modify the kit to make it fit?

@ Camread what spicyTuna said. Had to remove shift knob to access.

@ Jayhawk815 So far Alpine doesnt make the kit for the radio. Its just a matter of time. I didnt do the install but what we used was a radio kit for a 7" screen and cut it out bigger to fit. I also added the harness to retain the steering wheel controls.

Looks good. I am in for 8". What's screen resolution 800x480 or 1024x768? I can't seem to find on specifications.

Self install or pro?

I am interested in this model as well! Where is the pic showing the install? Any more info on the radio kit used and the harness to connect the steering wheel controls?
