Is there still a design flaw in 2013 Sienna's re: steering rack boot?

Does anyone know if Toyota corrected the design flaw in the steering rack boot for the 2013 Sienna's? I own a 2006 Sienna, and was told by the service manager that the rack boot failure was the result of a design flaw, but there would likely be no recall. It costs about $1350 to repair. Toyota did issue TSB-0097-12 addressing the issue. I am going to purchase either a 2013 Sienna or Honda Odyssey, and would appreciate any information. Thank you.

Our 06 made a clunking noise felt in the steering wheel when making turns or up/down a driveway/parking lot.

It was repaired under a TSB where they replaced the steering rack, not exactly if it relates to steering rack boot.

Problem went away after the repair.

I did a quick google and several searches came up.

Your SA should look that up that TSB.

My '11 SE also had a clunking noise and dealer replaced the intermediate drive shaft.
Noise went away after the repair.

Thank you so much for your reply, gs3tek. I will check on that. The most I was able to get out of the service manager about the 2013 Sienna's was that he had the "impression" that the design flaw had been corrected.

No problem dannykeener.
Generally, by the 2nd and 3rd year, hopefully most kinks are ironed out.

2013 is still too new so haven't heard of any new owners complained yet.
