Dude if you have a head that gives you 10.7:1 compression you should be hitting valves already. If you go with 12.5:1 pistons you will no doubt be hitting valves because those pistons were made to give ytou 12.5:1 compression with the stock head. As for the 5sfe the pistons are the same design on top but I think they are a little taller and I know the bore is bigger. I don't know for sure if you can use the rods and crank from a 5sfe in the 3sfe I beleive there are some differences that makes it so you can't directly put them in. What are you building your motor for? Just street driving or racing any where? That could help you decide how to build your motor and at what RPM you are going to be running to determine how to build the engine too. If you are planning on running at higher RPM then ditch the stroking idea because the bigger the displacement the less rev worthy the motor is.
