BTW that works out to 16% increase in unsprung weight, not 26%. Also, The much more precise handling of the lower profile tire makes for a big difference as well. The unsprung weight does have an impact if cornering on extremely rough roads, but the lower profile and wider tire more than makes up for that. Also, it would be expected to gain a little weight when you add almost an inch more width.
With the new wheels and tires I can get on it pretty hard in the rain and the traction control doesn't come on nearly as much as it did with the stockers. I can also push way harder through the turns without kicking in the ASC, so that tells me I got a nice increase in handling.
Yeah, i could have spent a few hundred per wheel to get lighter ones, but I'm VERY happy with wheels at $99
