I don't think you have to drill.

The driver's side the grommet on my XRS was zip tied on the engine side.

There was also the nipple but it would be tough to fit anything larger than a 4 gauge through.

In any event, if you cut the zip tie you can feed it through the wall no problem, you just have to put a slit in the sleeve of the grommet on the drivers side to feed it out as there is no way you're going to get it all the way up the sleeve. Just be careful to slit the sleeve over your newly fed wire so you don't damage any of the existing wire within the sleeve.

I did this for two 4 gauge wires and there was plenty of room left.

After i just zip tied it back up and i was good to go.

The main issue is dissasembling the air intake and monitoring to get enough room to work it in from the engine side. Just keep track of what you removed from where.
