Footnotes:

The Stig's favorite car was the Lexus LFA.

Here are his comments on LFA:

Some general comments:

"Its a Stig type of car"

"But it's also the number one crowd-stopper and though not all the people we speak to like it, everyone wants to know what it is

Stig commenting on picking LFA as the winner:

"Amazing track weapon, super-stiff chassis makes it extremely sensitive to inputs...V10 engine has power everywhere and delivery to make the most of that...brakes powerful but don't interfere...lots of grip in slow and fast corners..food balance into...through, out of corners. What's Lexus? Does it also make fridges?"

Stig laptimes:

Ferrari 458 Italia: 1:19.2
Lexus LFA (old wet lap used): 1:22.8 (Apparently, Stig ran out of time to run dry LFA lap)/
LP570-4 Superleggera: 1:20.8
GT3 RS: 1:21
SLS AMG: 1:21.6

Enjoy!

No videos so far. I don't know if they shot an episode for this. In the previous years, there has been an episode of the "greatest supercars of the year", but in the new season so far they have not mentioned anything about a video episode for this.

Did the Stig said the LFA's engine is almost as good as the 458's? I thought LFA has the best engine in this group, hence why he picked it as his favorite.

Does it say in the test? I never saw that. I know he praised the engine in LFA a lot.

Stig picked LFA as th favorite for various reasons. Chassis stiffness, response to throttle inputs, braking and also power.

LFA's V10 is definitely better in my view, but that might be subjective mostly because the throttle response of the engine is a lot better due to lighter internals and the 10 individual throttle bodies, 9500 rpm rev limit (458 is limited to 9000 rpm) and also LFA's torque delivery from 6000 - 9500 rpm is much superior to 458 Italia's.

The Italia's advantages are direct injection and a better midrange torque (between 3500 - 4000 rpm).

I prefer the LFA's engine since it is more responsive.

This is what he said:

The Lexus is mad as a brush, but its 4.8-litre V10 runs the Ferrari's V8 very close indeed for high-revving thunder. Yes, you read that right: a Lexus engine that's close to Ferrari good.

He did mentioned that he still like the 430 Scuderia engine a little more than the 458's
