Evo UK Magazine: Lexus LFA vs Ferrari 599 GTO [Video and Scans]

LFA gets compared to the halo Ferrari.

I wish it was Nurburgring edition merely because of the huge grip level differences of the super sport versus S001 tire. It is still undergoing final testing for production to come in 2 months so Lexus could only offer the standard LFA.

The surface looks very bumpy and not ideal for track testing and also two people on board the car.

Update: Evo UK British editors awarded the win to Lexus LFA over the halo and fastest Ferrari ever built in history with a GTO badge on it.

Yeah, I am waiting for that. Car And Driver seemed to be one that will probably do it. Evo UK is probably the other best one I would say.

the GTO is a great car but I don't think its a hardcore sports car like its "little" brother or the LFA.

It is supposed to be the most hardcore Ferrari, which is why it is wearing the GTO badge. However, it just cannot simply mask the fact that the platform was created for a very large and heavy GT car. Though, they tried to reduce the weight substantially and made the handling more hardcore, the 458 Italia is lighter, nimbler and very responsive in the same manner Lexus LFA is.

LFA has beaten both the 599 GTB with HGTE track package and the 599 GTO, but I think only the 458 Italia is what truly should be compared to the LFA.

Also, the platform for the GTO is fairly outdated since the car was originally developed way back in 2002.

you're exactly right, not sure why they keep matching the LFA against the 'outdated' 599......
