When we were shopping for our 06 Avalon we wanted a backup in-dash camera screen. First thing we learned was backup cameras won't work with the normal, non-NAV screen because it's not a graphics display. We took a test drive car w/o NAV to an Al & Ed's store to see what could be fitted. When they saw the countours of the opening thay said they couldn't put anything in there that would look decent. They checked all their catalogs for aftermarket NAV systems that would fit and found nothing. Not wanting to go up a notch to the Limited, we did a special order for an XLS with NAV. Took a couple months to get.

We do not like the NAV for then same reasons many others have stated. Our portable Garmin is much easier to use. But, we have learned to live with it and would not have done anything different, given the choices.
