Advice for buying T100?

I'm looking for a pickup, and seem to e looking at T100s. Many seem in my price range, but some have some minor issues that shouldn't be too bad to get fixed. But, as I don't know these trucks, are there any common issues to look for? Carfax doesn't seem to list anything about some steering part that was recalled at some point. One looks OK, but has a history of many failed emissions checks in Virginia. Lots of this failure from 2005, 2007, and two in 2009 on one truck. Cat was replaced and it still failed. Anything else to look for/fix as my state also does emissions checks? Another looks nice but has a blown head gasket. I had that happen to a car some years ago, which was fine after repair. How worried should I be about such a truck? Any other suggestions to look for, things to avoid, etc? I appreciate any help!
