the reason most people don't put aftermarket wheels on the prius is because they bought it with a purpose in mind, good fuel economy.

You have to be careful with aftermarket wheels. Make sure you don't get anything to big. Every time you upsize, you add weight and the worst place to add weight on a car is the wheels. The unsprung weight you add will decrease your fuel mileage pretty quickly.

If you stay with a smaller sized wheel, like the 15" ,or 16" on the touring model, then you will be ok. If you go any bigger, you'll start to see your fuel economy go down.

P.S. To answer, since I haven't seen it here yet, the bolt pattern on the prius is 5x100.
