In looking very closely at the 2nd video I posted above I saw something almost amazing and, that I remembered in the muddy field rollover..... if you play this 2nd video and stop it at different points as the vehicle is being righted, you will see from the reflections on the glass that the sunroof glass is still intact...
Part of this is due to the weight balance of the 4Runner when on it's roof.. (I've noticed this from video mentioned above showing a 4Runner being rolled on it's roof on a beach)
The engine/front end is heavy enough that the vehicle rolls on it's side then onto the roof with just about all the vehicle's weight the A (front) roof pillars and minimal remaining weight (and damage) on the hood. Note that roof rack is still intact on the roof.. that and the rear section of the roof never hit the pavement.
