Echo... what do you and everybody mean by an "exciting" car.. ??
Let's say Supra comes back.. is it going to be in every garage. Not in mine although I would almost die to have one.
It is a Manufacturer image thing in my opinion.
Where is Honda's PRELUDE?
Most manufacturers are canning sports cars IF that is what is called excitement by general public.. . Pontiac's Gs are history..
Even Hummer went to Chinese...
Toyota still making awesome off road vehicle.
The FJ Cruiser, the 4Runner, the Land Cruiser or anything that is not a "daily family hauler" are way nicer than any competitors in the market right now..
I mean drive the Pilot, drive the Envoys or Explorers.. and are you going to tell me that the 4Runner is not a better looking and sportier vehicle???
Look at the suspensions on the Toyota SUVs and compare with others and tell me those are boring..
I will tell you where Toyota is lacking excitement...
MANUAL TRANSMISSIONS
I have driven the Fusion/Taurus.. sorry ... enjoyed driving the Camry more.
..... and I think you guys would want the AVALON to have a STIFF suspension like the MAXIMA.. Right?

LOL! Of course I'll have it in my garage. A picture of it. Well I don't have my own garage. How about in my room??
I'm well aware (exception of maybe a few) sports cars are a niche' market. But its still important if they want to keep things fresh and attract younger buyers which Toyota needs badly.
I agree its all about image. Right now Toyota is staid and boring. Of course that depends on what you view as staid.
I'm not into SUVs and I wasn't referring to them, that's comparing apples to oranges. I'm talking about an outright sports car, not a sporty off road car. Something from the ground up. And I don't consider them a sports car. Yes there are "exciting" off road cars and I have no doubt about Toyota's, cause I know Toyota knows how to build an off road car.
I like the Tacoma, although I'm generally not a Truck guy. I do like the new Tundra, especially the TRD Supercharger. The old school pick up trucks are nice.
