Yup.. it's not that hard to change it.. It takes a good few hours.. but isn't that hard.. This is why a lot of your domestics actually use chains.. they last the life of the engine normally.. and don't pose a threat of slipping. Toyota engines are non-interference so if the belt does slip it's not like you're gonna run into valves slapping pistons.. unless u run high lift cams. But I like to change mine every 50-70K.. do all the belts at the same time as well as the water pump.. While you are in there it's just easy to get it all done and outta the way.
