pull the speedometer drive unit and fill there.

the drive unit is bolted to the back of the transmission, and has a cable from the firewall (right in front of the driver) that leads into the transmission.... the cable is 2 pieces, but I recommend leaving the cable in place to use it as some leverage.... unbolt the 12mm bolt that holds the tab in place (which keeps the drive unit from rotating) and pull the speedometer drive unit out.... you will now have a 1.5" hole to fill the trans with.

I figured this one out in the aw11, as it's a bigger PITA than an ae92 to fill...


your engine will NOT look like this.... this is just for reference....



if you notice the white plug connector in the middle bottom of the photo (lying on the transmission) you will see a cirucular mechanical connector (ie it isn't electronic). In the photo, the 12mm bolt is just to the right (in the car it will be towards the passenger side of the car)
