Fabtech Lift Spindles
Just a forewarning here....
I got the new Fabtech 4" Lift Spindles for my 93 2WD truck. They are nice, I like the lift and am happy with the install...but there is one problem that I ran into, and have talked with a shop that ran into the same problem (Fabtech "hasn't had any problems).
The hard brake line on the Caliper needs to be bent in most cases and you risk kinking the line or even breaking it. Until Fabtech realizes this is a potential problem I would suggest buying a new pair of solid brake lines from the dealer (about $7 total and worth it) and using those to bend to the right shape.
My truck was in the shop for an entire day and we decided not to risk damaging a brake line and I'll have to fabricate one. A shop I spoke with accidentally snapped one line and the truck has been in the shop for 3 days waiting on a new brake line.
I, personally, think that Fabtech should fabricate a new brake line and include it with the kit. I also don't know why they don't include the flexible brake lines in the kit since you can't install the kit without them. That makes no sense to me.
I'm happy with the install, despite the problems. Don't expect a 3 hour install on these though!
