In my most huble of opinions, nothing beats the quality of a 35mm slr. The ability to adjust aperture and shutter speed and also push or pull film for grain, are characeteristics of photography that digital cams have yet to duplicate.
i guess i'm just a purist at heart, but i would rather invest good money in a 35 mm, even a medium or large format camera and some good lenses and scan the photos. Mind you, i've seen some really good digi cams....but i think the better the quality, the higher the price per usual.
