D2 Resolution Thread

Established in 1997. D2 is not only specialized in manufacturing shock absorbers for auto motives modifcation kits but also provides all-kinds of shock absorbers for customers.
D2 racing teams are around the world in Thailand, Taiwan, and China and Hong Kong.
They also have branches in Hong Kong, China, Macau, Singapore, Thailand, Australia,England,Cyprus, Greece, New Zealand, Canada and USA.
All D2 Products are tested by their instrument and professional racing teams to meet high standard qualities and reliabilities before they are sold.

D2 North Americas Input
"There seems to be some confusion as to who the coilovers in question were bought from and who is responsible. D2 Racing Sports NA was established in Jan 05 as the exclusive North American distributor. I know the coilovers in this GB did not come from us, I assume they came from Marcus at ADV auto parts, now bankrupt and fleeing from the Toronto Police, FBI and dozens of customers who paid for coilovers that he failed to ship.

D2 Racing sports NA is under no obligation at all to warranty these coilovers but we are doing what we can to help. Try buying a $200 new in the box S-AFC off eBay. More than likely it is gray market (not authorized for resale in this region). It could come DOA and apexi NA will tell you tough luck, there will be no compensation at all given.

Fixing the issues left behind by previous distributors has not been a cheap venture, while we are passing some of the cost on to the customers we still lose around $10 per strut (this is mostly due to the cost of air freight, the manufacturer is helping with the cost of struts). $10 might not sound like much until you start replacing hundreds of struts.

You got a great deal on the coilovers, the GB price was below our current wholesale. As with everything you get what you pay for. The line is established and the products have now been tested and improved upon. As soon as payment is received from Element the manufacturer will ship out the replacements.

This is one of those strange things.
The manufacturer and new distributor places blame on the previous distributor for the failure of the parts due to the manufacturing process.
The dealer gets hit with the trouble of warranting the product and the customer gets to wait. I am glad that the new distributor and manufacturer are sorting this out after all though.
I can't wait to get this finished.

Funny.. I IM'd my friend over at D2 N/A and he responded within minutes..... I usually talk to him at night though so there's no way I can help you find out if they've shipped out or not.

I received an email from michael.

He said he was unaware that we had not received the product and would be calling d2 in taiwan. I have not heard back from him yet.

So is there a clear picture as to who is getting a replacement. I do believe I was the first person to bring this issue up, not take take credit for being a pain in the ass, just wanted to know what is going on, I have been patient and waiting, stoped receiveing PMs so thought this was already done, was just waiting to receive word on when...

Please do let me know the clear exact resolution that has or has no been establsihed...

i just got word from michael this morning

apparently d2 NA has just got a hold of the english speaking rep, but she is waiting final "authorization" from her boss, which is conveniently on vacation
