Hard to tell from the pics, but it that a dent? Or is it just scuffed up real bad? If it's a dent it's going to cost around 1000 more than likely. If it's just a bit of paint work you should be able to get off pretty cheap.
Body shop may want to quote repainting the entire fender and bumper. It may be the only way to repaint it correctly. I agree with $1000. Choose a quality body/paint shop, not the $100 special.
A little spit and elbow grease oughta take that right out.

if bumper is ok (no broken tabs) you don't need to repaint whole bumper and fender.
dent can be pulled back and fender/bumper (after some filling and sending) can be partially painted and blended .
call your insurance, they should have preferred body shop in the area.
to me it doesn't look like a 1000, more like 500at the most.
I just got my car back from bodyshop: bumper, fender, headlight replaced, wheel refinished, and some body work on the both right doors-total $3700. all was done in pretty expensive bodyshop, preferred facility for many ins. companies.
so yours damage not even close to a grand.

Bumper is Okay, it's mainly the fender. My parents are going to kill me.
If the scratch does not go all the way through the paint into the primer, you may be able to polish most of it out with a heavy duty rubbing compound.
I would not fool around trying to pull the dent out as you may make it worse. Chances are most of the dent can be pushed out from behind but to do it right you need to know how to do it properly. If you do not, you could create more work for someone to fix it later.
A dent puller won't work, as you've got to drill a hole in the fender to use it, unless you're talking about those little suction cups they sell and in that case I think you would be wasting your time. 1000 might be a bit high of an estimate, it really depends on how bad those scratches are. Looks to me like they go past the base coat, in which case the body shop is going to have to, at the very least, blend the fender. You're looking at .5 hour in labor just to prep it and then you're looking at about .5 hour - 1 hour to paint it, plus cost of paint, plus 1-2 hours labor to pull the dent. Most places charge around 30-35 an hour in labor to work on your car, sooo you might be looking at around 300-400. If they have to paint the entire fender you'll be looking at a bit more.
600 bucks at a decent shop. repair dent, blend fender and bumper cover, and clear both. 800 bucks if they want to disassemble the front bumper and paint the cover by itself (preferred method).
With that color paint they may have to paint the whole fender blending it in to make it so you can't tell it was repainted. If someone tells you they can just paint that section and it will be fine I would be surprised and go somewhere else to get an estimate. When my tundra was backed into the shop had to paint the entire quarter panel and blend into the drivers door and you can't even tell. My panel was only pushed up a bit and it needed a new bumper and it cost me $2,500 well the insurance company of the person who hit me.
