This thing rides worse than a horse carriage.

Not.

I'm renting a 2013 XLE for the weekend and noticed absolutely no difference is the quiteness and smoothness of the car, and found the seats to be quite supportive and comfortable. Much to the TN Avalon hater brigade's chagrin. Will take it to my grandparents tomorrow to show it to them and let them compare it to their 2010 Gen 3 Limited. They loved the looks of the Gen 4 when they were in for service so I'm going to give them the chance to drive one.

1991 Toyota Camry 24,000 mi
1994 Toyota Pickup 77,000 mi
1998 Toyota Avalon 150,000 mi
2005 Chevrolet Silverado 57,000 mi
2006 BMW 330i Sedan 123,000 mi
2007 Toyota Camry Hybrid 95,000 mi

I'd like to know too because the nearest large car rental agency with a large inventory that might include an Avalon would be at the Sacramento airport - a two hour drive south of Red Bluff. Also, the Yuba City Toyota dealer might have an Avalon and it's about a 1 1/2 hour drive from Red Bluff. Guess there would also be an outside chance the Hertz locations in Red Bluff, Chico and Redding might have an Avalon. If so, that would be amazing.

Enterprise. I work there and we had a brand new one delivered today so I rented it for the weekend. I'll gladly post pictures if there are some doubters. It's Attitude Black w/ Almond interior.

84cressida, what are the chances of being able to rent one from Enterprise at Orlando Airport (MCO) on March 1st? Would it be Premium class?

Of the folks who are complaining about the ride quality....especially with the 18" rims....has anyone bothered to check the tire pressure? My Taco was delivered with 45+ PSI in all 4. The factory spec is 30-F, 33-R.

An over-inflated tire...particularly a lower profile, performance oriented tire can ride quite rough if it's too high.

If you want to enjoy your car....stay off the internet.

Yes, Avalon is a premium car. As far as availability, I wouldn't be able to tell you. I imagine Touota sent a few to fleets so potential buyers could check them out but don't expect to see many of them, and we dont reserve specific make and models, just car class. If the branch you're renting from has one when you go in, go for it. The airport definitely increases your chances of getting one.

The Avalon I rented a few years ago was a bottom of the line model. If I was looking to buy one then I would have passed on it. I think the limited I have now would have too many toys for most renters. You need a few days to figure out the electronics. I think I have gone to the manual more times with this car than any in the past but it is the best car I have owned. [White with black int.]

Picked up our Limited V6 Friday after 2 month wait. Checked Saturday morning and found all at or slightly above 40. Reduced all to 33 (my door panel says all at 33). Then reset tire pressure button in glove box.
