To add to ds-ttcc's general rule, you gotta make sure that your intercooler isn't too big too =D b/c you can have too big of an intercooler where the pressure of your air is lost in significant numbers in the cooler, and thus loosing boost pressure (even if its a little)

if you want the theory behind it to determine your pressure drop and temp drop though a given intercooler, i can send you the forumlas
