Have you guys checked out the new tC RS 2.0 edition?.........ITS FUGLY!!!!!
the grille/ color is one hideous combination!!
I have one of them and I actually think it looks awesome.
It's a break away from the regular "tC"s. I live in So. Cali and I can tell you that there are tC's every where and I'm glad that I got the 2.0.
This is the 1.0
In my opinion, the 2.0 looks better, of course I probably am biased. I've seen one up close in person and I must tell you that it looks different from pictures. The "red" seems to appear "faded". Although the 18in rims are cool, I don't like it black. Ricers left and right remove their wheel covers and paint them black since they probably think it gives them 50hp.
I like the equipment that comes with the 2.0 better. Suede seats, side curtain airbags, satellite radio w/iPod connector control, subwoofer and of course, the stunning paint. At first I didn't like the silver grille, but it's grown into me.

and the rims are STOCK style with a plain finish!!
Regular tCs have a glossy finish. I guess Toyota did this to match with the grille. It would look stupid if the wheels were shiny and the grill was not.

the only plus side is the stereo upgrade and the interior......
You're forgetting that the side airbags are close to a $1,000 option. And yes, the stereo kicks ass. But one thing that I truly love that is NOT available with other tCs is the color. BlueBlitzMica is stunning.

the RS 1.0 was definitely better!
I would respect the 1.0 if it had any performance enhancing mods in it. But to be honest, it kinda looks "ricey" to me.
I like them both in thier own ways.
I like the blue. It's not a normal Toyota color like the red.
I like the black grille more.
I like the 18's more.
I think they are both upgrades from the stock tC's. Neither is better then the other.
If Toyota added the same accessories to each new limited model then it wouldn't be different then it's predicessor.

I don't hate or bash the 1.0 It just isn't my cup of tea. It just irritates me when some punk starts to bash a car.
Anyways, Toyota should make a 3.0 release with the tC Spec, with 17in rims, TRD supercharger, intake/exhaust and stiffer shocks and springs. Toyota should try their best to sell it for $19,000.
I won't trade in my tC, but who knows, I might buy a 2nd one
I have never been a fan of the RS2. I have a RS1 and think it is way better than the 2. The RS2 grilles look really cheap in my opinion. The rims are exactly the same as stock except they aren't shiny, unlike the RS1 where you actually do get an upgrade. As far as performance, the RS1 at least got a strut tower bar. I also have side curtain airbags in my car. Definately not a fan of their "stereo upgrade" considering it is a single 6in "subwoofer". And do we really need another blue? Azure Pearl, Indigo Ink Pearl/Nautical Blue, and now Blitz Blue Mica? I'll keep my RS1.
I never liked the RS1. I think the 2 is better than the 1. The RS1 grilles look like they were sprayed by Krylon $0.99 spray paint. They give you ugly rims and overcharge you for them. The strut tower bar doesn't help the car perform better nor does the battery tie down . Side curtain airbags were only standards on the RS2. The iPod interface is great. I don't have to look like an idiot fumbling around for CDs when I want to hear another song that didn't fit in one CDR. The 6in powered sub sounds great. Those that say it doesn't have obviously never heard it. Those that want bass that can be heard 3 blocks away are stupid to think that you wouldn't need a box the size of a coffin in your trunk. Only sore RS1 owners are the ones who don't like the color. I guess they suffer from the "older child, new baby is born" syndrome. Everyone I've met loves my BBM tC. Specially my Alcantara seats. I too would probably be sore if I got one with the cheap ugly seats.
It just irritates me when some punk starts to bash a car............

I just have to chuckle at this comment seeing it comes from someone who digs the chrome chicken-wire grilles on the RS2

Well, at least they are not dull STOCK rims. And how do you figure Scion overcharged for the rims? The RS1 package was only $1775 more than a base tC and you get a lot of stuff for that money.

I never said the battery tie down helped the car perform better, however, the strut tower bar DOES help performance. It prevents chassis flex when cornering. At least the RS1 has SOMETHING performance related.

Neither do I...I just use my remote to switch to another Satellite Radio channel.

You have obviously never heard a REAL sound system then.

I have bass that can be heard from a ways away provided by a single ten and is completely hidden from view under my hatch mat. And yes, it IS louder than your 6in sub-yipper.

The blue is ok for some. I just think it is funny that Scion released a third blue color to the lineup.

I get compliments all the time as well about my "black mesh over red" seats that came with the RS1.
Now now guys, lets not all get to huffy here. Can't we all just get along..LoL
I Think they both look pretty good. Nuff said.

I would buy a RS 2.0 just for the color, everything else can be replaced with aftermarket parts.
For how much? The RS2 is a steal for it's $18,800 price tag. The side curtain airbags are about an $800 option without installation. Alcantara seats aren't cheap. If you were to have a shop re upholster your seats, expect to pay alot of money.
I don't really care about the rims and I'm glad I wasn't charged extra since I plan to upgrade them of my choice when my tires go bald.

Not as funny as the ricer look

Atleast I wasn't charged extra for ugly rims.

Wow, tower bar to complement mushy suspension. Let me know how it helps you making your tight turns to your driveway.

Satellite radio sucks. I wouldn't want to pay for materials that have commercials. No thanks, I enjoy my 80gb of music.

People who know sound systems don't have the ghetto mentality of having 15in woofers in their cars. If you've ever heard a Mark Levinsons sound system, you'd know a thing or two. Those sound systems do fine with a 6in sub and it sound phenomenal. If you want to get a clue, go to a Lexus dealer and listen to one. I enjoy my music inside my car, not to please someone 2 blocks away. If you also knew a thing or two about sound, you'd know that smaller subs are more accurate than behemoths.

There's a difference between "loud" and "accurate", get a clue.

It's probably because people want it. There's a reason why they only have one shade of "red", and I see a lot of them collecting dust on showrooms.
