I planned on purchasing a new Scion xB. Went to the dealer and he had both 2006 and 2007s in stock. I aksed about any incentives, rebates or discounts on the 2006 and the salesliar told me there are absolutely no discounts on previous model year models. He said that the Scion/Toyota corp does not allow discounts on Scions what-so-ever, even older models. WHAT THE "F"! Is this true???? I cannot believe it but has anyone else been told the same thing?

Its true, check out Scion .com and learn about Scion pure pricing.
Logic and Edmunds and NADA and my insurance agent "tell" me that any vehicle that is not model year current, which is now 2007 regardless of whether or not it has any mileage on the odometer has depreciated in value. If Scion refuses to acknowledge that simple precept of conducting business in the auto industry world then I cannot help but wonder at how the warranty will be honored and service dispensed.
Oh, I have no objection to "pure pricing" concepts. There is nothing I despise more than to have to engage in a battle of wits and wills to have a dealership remove the additional dealer mark up pricing just to get to arrive at the MSRP and trying to get them to "budge" from that point. BUT."Pure pricing" of older model year vehicles is a purist expression of bending the consumer over. It is not like Scions are classic or muscle cars with appreciation potential.
Not to be rude but your insuance agent doesn't know what he's talking about and if you didn't talk Directly with the Heads of NADA and Edmunds, then I'm at a total loss of how they gave you that info. While doing any of this checking did you check to see what the model year really was on your xB you were thinking of? There isn't and never will be an 07 xB or xA.
A vehicle is New until it's titled. The Amount a dealer spends on a vehicle doesn't change no matter how old it is and since there's vertually no money on the top end of a Scion, a dealer isn't likely to budge even if they wouldn't lose the ability to sell the brand if they did.
If Scion were to budge at the end of a model year, then no one would buy one until the end of said year. What they did last year was offer "incentive packages" that you could choose from to help sell the remaining vehicles. I haven't seen these packages come up yet and doubt they will since Scion is well into the 07 model (the only 07 being a tC). If a Dealer breaks the prue price covenant, they get fined BIG TIME and can lose the ability to sell the brand from Toyota.
The Warranty has NOTHING to do with the model year of the vehicle but is soley based on the in-service date of the vehicle(also known as the day you take the vehicle home).
You need to find out of the dealer was talking about 07 tC's. Since he said they had 06's and 07's in stock, I'm presuming he was talking about all 3 models. If he tell's you that he has an 07 xB, then he's lying to you and you need to find a new salesperson.
P.S. Maybe you should change your title of your thread since you went into the dealer with a negative perception to begin with. He never lied to you about the pricing which was the initial complaint. I hope you didn't jump down this salesperson's throat and make an ass of yourself in front of everyone.

I must say everything Mr. Johnston said is very true....there is no such thing as a 07' xA or xB...sure will never be...only a tc...and Scion has the Pure Price solution...to tell you the truth...Scion's really do not depreciaite in value ...unless of course you are buying a used or already crashed vehicle....for the money they cost you are gaining one of the best vehicles out on the market right now and I can tell you no matter what dealership you go to...be it in Puerto Rico, NY, California or Hawaii....you will be paying the same price unless of course there is a different accessory on the car itself which comes from port, for example...Toyoguard, Side airbags, or an Ipod radio.
Go to www.scion.com and read everything you can...go to different websites and you will see Scions are the best you can buy right now...and worth every penny!
Ohh forgot to mention...used Scions actually go up in resale value for about a year before they really start to go down.

Also, the mileage on the car will matter a lot more when you're trying to sell the car versus the model year of the car (unless there was a MMC, which in the case of a tC is not true). A 2007 tc with 20K miles on it will be worth less than a 06 with 12K. And the price of a tC will minimize this effect even more (meaning if you were to apply this rule to an LS460, the difference in prices would be larger).
If you consider this a negative experience, just you wait when Camry, amongst other models/manufacturers, go "pure priced" as well. Consumers say they hate to haggle, yet get pissed when you can't.
