I get to be a prototype!

I was contacted by Spectre Performance parts and my xD was chosen to have prototype parts fabbed for it. They said they are going to have it for a few days or a week and see what kinds of fun stuff they can do to it... and the greatest thing is that I get to keep all of it for free. I am totally stoked and I am suppose to take it in the first week of July.

Hi xDizzle08,

I just found out that I will be traveling from Wednesday through Monday (July 9 – 14), so how about Monday/Tuesday (July 7/8)? I have reserved a spot for you in for those dates, so let me know if this works. If not, we can do it the following week.

One thing I want you to be aware of is that, although we plan to get CARB approval on all of our intake kits, this will not be emissions legal for at least 6 months (and, although our success rate is good, it is possible that it will not be approved).

Well, I dropped off my xD at Spectre today. Their setup is amazing. They have the coolest machines to make their prototype equipment and one hell of a dyno. The guys were very excited to see my car because they have not messed with the new 2zr-fe before. They were totally stoked about building a full on cold air intake and short ram. As a matter of fact they are meeting with Toyota tomorrow, after I get her back, to discuss further product development. I get her back tomorrow @ noon. I feel like a little kid on Xmas eve. We shall see what cool stuff they made so it can then be passed on to you guys.

Got my xD back from Spectre and the kit they built is badass. On the dyno it gained 5 HP and 6 lbs torque. They said that they want me to come back and give feedback in 2 weeks. I can already tell a big difference. Anyways I highly recommend Spectre parts and they are a great company to work with and have great quality craftsmanship and parts. I would check out their website and e-mail them about your car and they are very likely to design something for your car. Any questions send me a line. I will be sure to post pics when I get home.

Well I went back to Spectre and they put the cold air intake that they had created on it and the numbers were: 10 HP and 14 LBS Torque gain. The short ram gives it a nice sound but obviously the cold air is overall where its at. Any questions or comments please post.
