Airbag light ON...

Just installed an alarm in my 04 Scion xB and now the airbag light is on. I took it to the dealer and they said it had two error codes- left and right front airbag sensor malfuntion. Any ideas on how to reset this? Dave

Who did the install?

Sounds like some wire's got crossed up.

Yeah, I've seen several aftermarket installs from nav to alarms where the installer decided to get a 12v signal from a yellow wire....

Concur on first checking if the alarm installer made a mistake, if you can try to get the actual trouble codes. FYI, with the SRS light on the airbag system is no longer working.

The light is still on. What do you recommend to do? I've check all the cables. I am looking for a chip tool at http://www.scantool.net/products/pro...products_id=32, I called them today and they said what their Hardware is compatible to do so, there is no Software. They said what other company which sell tools to reset lights is http://www.autoenginuity.com/ but they want $400.00 for the tool. any advice where I can find software? Thansk!

Spending $400 on a tool to reset the airbag light doesn't make much sense if you haven't fixed the problem. It would be smarter to take it to the dealer and spend that money on having it fixed.

I had similar situation when I bought my car. The light was on and the dealer told me that I had to replace the driver seatbelt and the airbag computer module that is under the center console.

I have called a few junk yards in the area and got a seatbelt for $80. Then my friend told me about a place in Atlanta www.myairbags.com that reset the computer modules. I sent them the module and got the module reset
