Question More Power

I am looking for some information regarding a little more power out of my xB. I am trying to do the least amount of work for the most amount of power yielded. Does anyone have any ideas?

Supercharger, that'd be the least work to get the most power. But for real power, you'll need to swap in a 4E or 5E Hybrid.

yeah, but like u've said before, the supercharger out for the 1nz is expensive and puts out barely any gains.(50 at the fly i think)

i know TRD japan sells a turbo kit for the 1NZ, but does this work with USspec 1NZ's, specifically in an xB, with various hood clearance issues and getting around a most likely different set-up? It seems nice, but i don't know the gains. It comes with seriously everything u need though, right down to an intercooler, oil cooler, etc.

$3500 for 30hp, to me, just isn't worth it. Esp. when you can do a swap for about half of that.

Just my 3 Cents short of a Nickel.

50 at the fly is barely anything, tha's like around 30 to the wheels.....they have like what? 85ish to the wheels already? so that only makes around 115 at the wheels. For 3500, iexpect a lot more than a measly 115 at the wheels. A custom turbo kit could be made for around that price or cheaper with probably at least 150 if not mroe to the wheels.

But as you build up the engine, and do more work on it, you get more and more out of the supercharger. 50bhp is on a stock car. With an intake, and new cam, you could prolly get around 80bhp.

A swap with more power for less than $2k? How would you do that?

As for being only 30hp to the wheels, that's still 30hp that wasn't there before. It's hard to top one mod that gives you that much, add to that the fact that any breather mods get enhanced gains afterward.

The motor set is like $650, then the replacement hoses & other stuff, plus the custom motor mounts, I figure around $2000.

Further more, the 4E is already turbo, so it's a better starting point to begin with, but I can't justify spending $2000 to take out a brand-new engine to put in a 4-5 year old one, in the name of HP, But that's maybe just me.
