Carbon Fiber Engine Cover

On Ebay they have Carbon Fiber Engine Covers for the Scion xB. It looks cool buuuut......

Does the original engine cover weight THAT much? And i thought over time, with carbon fiber, it'll start bubbling up?

As with almost all Carbon Fiber it is almost purely for looks. Even a Carbon Fiber hood will only save you 5-10 lbs. If you get it know you are getting it for looks.

Hey the hood on my car weighs 50 pounds and the cf is 10. Thats 40 pounds and it makes a difference. Small but still a little difference.

Power/weight ratio's make a lot of cars what they are. Like Porsches and such.... but I think CF is just a fad for most people rather than a mod.

Yea, but it's a pricey fad that may not do much weight reduction wise.....depending on the vehicle, as others have said
