Getting 1st oil change on Wed., have a question....

Anyone know off the top of your head, what the oil capacity is for the '05 XB? I'm bringing my own oil to the dealer for them to change with and I wanted to know how much to buy. Thanks!

Do it yourself?

Its pretty easy. Takes like 10-20 min of work and like 1 hr of waiting.

You'll need a hydralic lift to be able to change oil, otherwise, it'll be hard. 4 quarts is enough for any car.

Oil Change.

25 bucks for synthetic oil.

From 20-60 dollars for a jack. Around here there are 3000lb hydraulic jack and 2 jackstands for only like 20 bucks. Also keep in mind, you can use this for many other projects.

5-10 bucks for a oil filter.

5-10 bucks for a air filter (If you want).

Its not that bad. Its the having to buy synthetic oil everytime that really will cost a lot. Otherwise the other things aren't that bad.

Toyota does mine for free, I just paid for my oil, and it only took about 20 mins. I live in an apartment so changing my oil isn't really that easy.....

you obviously don't start the car, shut it off and then check the dipstick do you? cause that's the proper way to do it. i do this for a living and i'm toyota certified, who are you to tell me i'm wrong?
