Question toyota warranty

I drive the scion tc. I wanted to install a python remote start alarm from circuity city. I work there, so I can get a really good deal. However, my toyota dealership told me that if i get it, it will void the eletrical portion of my warranty. Is this really true? Is this because I purchased the extended warranty for 7 years? Can they really do that? Thanx.

that's BS. but if that screws something up, tehy have the right to refuse to warranty taht. BTW, teh warranty is good at any toyota dealer nationwide, so check out a different toyota dealer in NY if they're gonna be like that.

I think it depends. If you splice into the electrical system (i.e. cut the wires), then that should void the warranty. If you don't, then you should be fine.

Yeah, I hate the warranty because they really make you get the extension and then if you touch the car, whatever you touch is void. I used to freak out over it but then I realized. Although things can happen, as long as you do it right or get it professionally installed, there is little chance of something bad happening. So do what you can. Most of my mods are gonna be bolt on parts so if necessary I can take off everything before I bring it into the dealership. And trust me, they don't look to see if you tinkered around because they can't prove anything if you fix it right.
