Scion Insurance Expensive?

I have been looking at the xb and quotes through progressive (didn't even have Scion listed as a make) and Geico seem much more expensive than insurance on Toyota models. Brand new Camry insurance gives me about a $30 a month increase over my 97 Taurus, a Scion on the hand adds about $120-140 a month .......... what is up with this?!

I really fancied the Scion but just giving cash away to the insurance guys --- not so sure I want to deal with that.

Lucky old you -- Seriously, I have only been driving for a couple of years, I am from London, England and always used public transport, so I didnt pass my test till 27 and thats less than 3 years ago. Because of the lack of driving my insurance on my Tarus (or a camry) is about $120 a month -- a scion is about $240-$270 ....

I got rid of my '00 Grand Prix GT for an '04 xB and I believe my insurance went down a little bit but I'm not sure. My parents pay for part of it and I give them $100 a month.

I only pay $67 a month w/State Farm. Its been two years since my last accident (which was the 2nd car I totalled); 3 years since my last ticket. Guess I'm getting a steal.

I have a 100 comprehensive and a 250 collision deductible.

I'm paying about $400 every 6 months on my Tc. Never had an accident/ticket, been driving for 10 years. Farmers Insurance.

My quote for the xB full coverage was cheaper than my full coverage insurance on my T100. My xB quote was $235 for six months with State Farm with full coverage, and $100/$250 deductible. I'm an old fart with a clean record, and multi vehicle/ multi year discounts.

I'm going to start doing some checking on other companies, too. I've checked over the years and State Farm has been cheapest or damn close, but it never hurts to look again..

Ok, I live in NY and EVERYTHING gets infalted here... our deductibles are either 500 or 1000... but, my 06 TC is costing me 1,729 per year, full coverage including glass. I am 22 yrs old, driving for 5 years and under my own insurance, not under my parents.
