My fears were averted, I got an '06...with an '05 stereo?
Picked up my '06 Tc today. Looove it. Dealer got it in 5 days earlier then he originally told me too.
It's definately an '06 model. Has the radio controls on the steering wheel too. I think they screwed up when they put in the stereo for me today at the dealership. I think they put in the '05 stereo instead of the '06 model with the turn dial volume.
My bro-in-law got the same thing in his 06 ... do your wheel controls work? ...his don't.
Yeah they work. I'm going to get the '06 head unit put in shortly I hope. I didn't realize it was an '05 radio until I watched the interactive cd that came with my car and it kept showing/talking about a radio that I did not have.
when you bought the car, did they offer you the upgraded stereo? And if they did and it was a 6 disc changer then your car is a 05 but if they offered the upgrade as an ipod port, they it was an 06.
The parts guy asked if I wanted a 6 disc changer. But it was just his lack of knowledge I think. I know for a fact the rest of my car is an '06. It says it on the papers I signed and it has the radio controls on the steering wheel.
yeah, your salesman must have been pretty new or just outright dumb. I have only been working for scion for a month and a half now, but i can tell you pretty much anything that you need to know.
How much was the base price for your car? manual or auto? that is another way you can find out if its an 05 or 06. If you went manual the base price should have been $16,715 and the autos base price would be $17,515. Those are the prices for 06, the 05 would be $200 cheaper. When did you actually purchase the car, because if it was recent, they salesman should have know about the year change already. When you actually take delivery of the car, the dealer is going to leave the window sticker in the car(usually the glove box) and in the upper left you will see the year of the car around where the color is mentioned.
As for my dealership, i know we have one(1) 2005 Natuical Blue Tc left on the lot and the rest are 06s and i know not to mention the ipod stereo to a customer looking at the 05 because the 05 only get the option for the 6 disc.
I have a question, so on the radio itself the 06 model should have a knob for the volume and the 05 model should have the two buttons for the volume?? Let me know. Thanks!
Sexican, I paid $16,715 for the '06 manual. I purchased it July 21st (down payment). I then financed the rest and took possession when it came into the dealership yesterday.

ok thats what i thought, but for the upgrade it has dual knobs for what, the volume and channels or the volume itself, not that I care, but just wondering.
