Canada Factory Oil

What type of Oil does Toyota put into Brand Spankin New Engines?

Is it Synthetic, or Petroleum?

Does it have Unique Additives/Viscosity designed for proper Break In & if so, would draining this Engine Oil "early" be defeating the Design Engineers intentions?

at my recent oil change, serv mgr said the 2009 corolla comes from the factory with Mobil Clean 7500 semi-synthetic 5w20: (have no idea if it is true, and i suppose it could depend on whether it was built at NUMMI or TMMC)

^^^NOT TRUE LMAO synthetic from the factory ? um yea right. i talked to a few guys at toyota i was in the back with them while we had my car up on the lift because they smashed my side skirts and i asked him, he said regular 5w20 dyno oil toyota brand. he said it wasnt even comparable to penzoil. toyota cars do NOT come with synthetic oil or special oil from the factory. regular dyno oil fellas.

i spoke with another service manager today. he said he has the factory spec sheet showing the use of Mobil Clean 7500 from the factory. i will stop in later this week or early next week and see if he will let me copy it.

Factory oil that is used is 0W20 which is a semi-synthetic blend. It's Toyota's house brand (can also be purchased in 1L bottles)...unfortunately I didn't ask who was the manufacturer.

Unfortuantely 0W20 is hard to find so they permit/recommend 5W20 as well.

do you have a source for this information? it would fit w/ the info ive gotten, except Mobil Clean isnt made in 0w20. my suspicion is the Mobil Clean 7500 is what my dealer uses and that it is possible mobil makes the toyota branded semi synthetic (otherwise i dont know how he has a spec sheet showing mobil semi synthetic from the factory)

One possible theory is that could explain the differences in the types of oil used is that if could vary depending on the actual manufacturing plant, since the Corolla is built in both Canada and the US.

Isn't 0W20 only available in full synthetic, not blend or conventional? I find it hard to believe 'yota would use synthetic as a factory fill.

SEMI-Synthetic BLEND. Best of both worlds!

Info source is Toyota directly.

That's a good one. Like blended is better than full synthetic.

There was a thread like this over on bob is the oil guy a while back.

It was reckoned that the Toyota Factory Fill is Eunos, and was distributed by same people as distributes mobil. I don't know if it's the same stuff that comes in the red bottles you can buy at the dealerships.

i have seen similar comments. i have an email out to Toyota Technical Support asking 1)what is the factory fill--viscosity and synthetic, blend, or conventional and 2)who makes it. i will post their response as soon as i get it.

its ENEOS (nippon oil), btw. i believe this is what gets branded as toyota oil here in the states:
http://www.eneos.us/products.php?pk=5

i found this email response this morning on a greenhybrid.com forum, supposedly from Toyota, which, if true, would confirm synthetic 0w20 from the factory. semantics, though. some people will call a blend synthetic even though its not fully synthetic, so im still not sure if its a blend or not.

The following Toyota vehicles are filled from the factory with 0W-20 oil, synthetic oil.

Camry 2.4 liter 4-cylinder engine
Camry Hybrid 2.4 liter 4-cylinder engine
Corolla 1.8 liter 4-cylinder engine
Corolla 2.4 liter 4-cylinder engine
Highlander 2.7 liter 4-cylinder engine
Highlander Hybrid 3.3 liter V6 engine
Land Cruiser 5.7 liter V8 engine
Matrix 1.8 liter 4-cylinder engine
Matrix 2.4 liter 4-cylinder engine
RAV4 2.5 liter 4-cylinder engine
Sequoia 5.7 liter V8 engine
Solara 2.4 liter 4-cylinder engine
Tacoma 2.7 liter 4-cylinder engine
Tundra 5.7 liter V8 engine
Venza 2.7 liter 4-cylinder engine

Thumbs up

I want to confirm the last post, My Yota Dealer told me that Rolla comes with "MOBIL ONE" ....al so if you just add one quart of full synthetic to
reg oil its as good as 4 guarts of blend.
