2011 Corolla S intake fitment?

ok, I thoroughly apologize in advance for spamming the forums with the 10,000th intake thread, but I used the search function before I decided to make this thread I promise!

I have a '11 Corolla S, and I am a bit confused as to what will fit in my car for an intake. I was going to order an injen cai, however both injen and several ebay vendors have told me that it only will fit on an 09. Can anyone prove/disprove this?

The only intake that I have found that I can confirm will fit my 11 corolla s is the k&n ram intake, which just to complicate things more is not street legal in CT (thats what k&n says). Apparently CT has adopted similar emissions to CA. The injen CAI comes with a OEO/CARB sticker which will allow it to pass emissions in CT.

Just on a side note - the thread that lists aftermarket parts is a huuuge help, however maybe it could be annotated as to which parts fit both 10th gen and 10.5th gen?? (unless i am really a complete noob and all 10th gen parts fit the 2011s and 2012s)

thanks in advance for any help

the only main difference between the 10th Gen and the facelift is the body so things like engine, suspension, interior should pretty much be compatible with eachother.

the reason the OE/CARB sticker won't work with your car is because the CARB sticker in the system specifies specific years make and model of the car so while a CARB sticker might help you with a simple on the street visual inspection, it won't help you with the referee who might start looking up codes.

hmm, so perhaps i should wait until injen updates this for the new models or search for a new intake that meets ct emissions... any suggestions? maybe ill just do the DIY cai/sri intake with modifying the stock air box

CT needs that cert to pass inspection on aftermarket now?

Personally with recent results its not worth the $$ for these mods, the engine responds poorly. The DIY method you saw is probably the only way I would do it.

not sure of the exact ct law, but on k and ns website they say their typhoon intake is not legal in CA or states that have adopted a CA emission law standard... CT is included in the list

what recent results did you have that led you to that conclusion? which intake did you buy and what results did you see?

Check out the turbo thread in the engine forum. $$ for minimal gains. None of this has been tested on a 5-speed though.

There is so much difference from one dyno to another that it's hard to say that the numbers from that one test didn't improve the performance. I know that my car feels much better from a drivability standpoint. I'm guessing that it has added 5-7 hp with my intake & exhaust. I'm not as concerned with the exact number since I can enjoy the better response every chance I want to by just pushing the gas pedal.

i am really not looking for gains in power per se, ive been modding my cars for the last 10 years, and enjoy working and tinkering under the hood.

the gains bolt ons produce are really subjective i guess, with a 1.8L N/A 4 cyl they will be minimal at best, but in my personal experience even a minor improvement in air flow will help economy and throttle response...

aem is claiming modest gains
http://www.aemintakes.com/images/pre...%20release.pdf about 7hp/7tq

im sure these gains depend on the dyno and a number of other variables and aem used the best conditions possible to market their intake... in other words, they did a stock pull in 110 weather with 90% humidity and then put the intake on and ran it in 70 40% humidity... at least thats what i would do if i was marketing it, since everyone wants to know... "OMG WHAT ARE TEH GAINZ??"

just my .02

to each his own though do the research and decide what is best for you personally and your wallet

260 seems a bit much for an intake IMO, but hey... if thats the one you want, ignore me!

Let us know how it is, dont think anyone has AEM yet!

I agree, a little pricey... the short ram intake for my audi s4 was $360 though lol... piece of 5" pipe and air filter... then the cat back exhaust was $1600 lol... i guess i am used to paying premium for german car parts so 260 didnt seem that terrible

i plan on installing this weekend so ill post pics and results
