Tire pressure monitoring system on a 2009 corolla LE, where is the set button?
Hey All,
I am new to this forum. I have a simple question that I hope you guys can help me with. I just got an 09 corolla. I am looking for the button to set the tire pressure and I cant find. The manual states it should be unde rthe steering wheel, but I see not such button. I have the light that would indicate low tire pressure on my dashboard (it is not litup, but that shows the set button has to be somewhere), does anyone know where the button is for this? I know on the 08 and 07 corolla it was on the side where you would adjust your mirror.
Tires are perfectly balanced and inflated yet the light stays on. Apparently it didn't like the way I rotated my tires. It seems to only want the tires to be rotated within the same side.
Can someone explain to me, how this tire pressure monitoring system works?
I have a 2006 Corolla. My mom has the 2009 Corolla, and when I put her winter tires on in November, I'd like to know what's different with my 2006, and if I'm doing something wrong.

I read the owners manual today, and didn,t see it. I was in the tire section. I guess I'll have to go read it again, or someone will have to explain it in detail.
If I buy 4 rims and 4 winter tires on the 2009 Corolla, and I don't put any TPMS on these wheels, what will happen? Just a light go on in the dash and thats it? No beeping I hope...
And if I want the TPMS to work with the new tires and new rims, do Ihave to buy new sensors? How much would that cost?
I put on and take off the winter tires myself, and save this way, so I don't want to pay extra for that TPMS.
my friend bought an 09 matrix this last may 2008 with tpms. later on she decided to buy summer tires and different wheels. the tire shop just transferred the oem tpms to the new set of wheels and tires and reset the tpms button. everything is still ok to this day

Yeah, but that's a problem when you want to have another set of rims (steel) and winter tires. That would mean you have to take the winter tires apart again in the spring just to get the sensors out so you can put them back in the alloys. That's a pain in the A$$.
I have started looking into this and someone told me I can contact a car parts store (such as CarQuest) and they sell an aftermarket sensor for a fraction of the price of the sensors Toyota sells. If this is true, then it maybe worth it to buy these just for the winter tires and rims. I will have to make some calls and try to find this out for sure. I want to save my alloys but I don't want the hassle of taking apart both sets of rims and tires everytime I want to change them.

That's exactly the way I feel Canadian Corolla. Here in Canada, it's a pain in the butt to have to take out and re install this every 6 months. Now imagine having that stupid light on in the dash to remind you that you live in Canada......
I phoned Toyota and they told me that if i don't put any TPWS transmitters on my winter tires/rims the light will be always on. So I asked how much 4 additional transmitters cost....and they said about 350 bucks......lmao Its a rip off !
