Free Eibach Springs for XRS owner in California near Corona

I've been talking to Dave over at Eibach in Corona Ca.

I really want them to make a set of springs specifically for the XRS or at least document the drop height. Preferrably the Manual version.

He has always told me they have not been able to get their hands on one to do R&D and just now he told me they would provide a set of springs installed free of charge for using your XRS as a donor. And if you can prove it, I'll paypal you $50.00!

For reference:

More homework I've done.
I found curb weights for the 2009
Curb weight CE
1235 kg (2722 lbs)(M/T)
1245 kg (2744 lbs)(A/T)
Curb weight LE
1275 kg (2810 lbs)(A/T)
Curb weight S
1255 kg (2766 lbs)(M/T)
1280 kg (2821 lbs)(A/T)
Curb weight XRS
1305 kg (2877 lbs)(M/T)
1345 kg (2965 lbs)(A/T)
For reference, the 2005-2006 XRS was 2670 lbs

If you take note on Eibach's website, the part number is the same for the 9th & 10th Gen.
However the drop is more substantial on the 10thgen due to the added weight and such.
Spoke again to Dave over at Eibach in Corona Ca. And he said the biggest difference is obviously going to be the drop due to the aforrementioned. I was not able to get a clear answer regarding ride quality or stability. One could speculate tha there will be some change, namely the stiffness since the coils are slightly more compressed.
My biggest concern is those springs were made for the lighter 9thgen, and apparently the specs allow them to use what they have currently, but the XRS is not included for the 10thgen. The drop has exceeded the 1.1" drop to almost 2" in some cases with the 10thgen, and thats a plus. I don't think a 1.1 drop on the 10thgen is really enoughanyway. I just wonder how much stability and ride we are losing with the extra weight on the XRS, especially those of you with the AT.
He mentioned again for you XRS owners, that in turn for using the car as a tester you will get a free set of springs with installation.

Eiback already tested their Corolla springs on the 09 CE, LE and S models...However, no one has yet to bring in their XRS for testing...

What you can do is to bring your car for testing, then tell them to put back the stock springs. Afterward, you can sell your free Eibach springs here and collect your $50 from OP

You needn't worry about violating the lease agreement. If you want your springs back, remove them before returning the car or trading it in. If you don't have the means to remove them, then they are part of the car.

Trust me, I've leased enough cars to know they will want to keep any upgrades done to the car. Not worry about weather you violated the lease agreement. Well.. unless you've gone nutters and painted it or put a body kit on it or a wing, or engraved the windows. It's just common sense really.
The only thing you would have to worry about is voiding the warranty on your struts. With the proper drop early on (meaning not too low like Tein S-Techs) your chances of blowing a strut is like winning the lottery.

Eibach was contract manufacturing TRD springs I recall, and the drop for the 9th gen was close between both spring sets. If you were to put the current springs on the 10th gen (especially the AT XRS) you are coming close to a 2" drop as opposed to 1" or 1".1 (That is where you could be close to pushing your struts)

Having said that, there are a lot of lowering springs installed out there without issue, I've seen a handful of complaints of people installing springs with a drop of around 2" where 1 or more struts would fail. One could speculate that this is a rare occurance, and that quite possibly the strut may have had a predisposition to early failure in the first place. (This happens in manufacturing) They just pushed them over the edge.

Side note: Just keep in mind you could be without your car for a few days. Make sure you go over that with them before you jump in.

P.S. Yeah, what the previous poster said, you could always ask them if they'd take them off, and then send them to me!!!

I'll do it! I'm new, but I'll take one for the team and be without a car for a few days...if you'll give me the contact info for eibach. if you email me the info I'll get in contact with them and drop it off. My email is pthai0910@yahoo.com. I've been reading this thread for a while now and I just finally registered, so I'm up for it! btw is it ok that I have an auto? I know you stated that they wanted a stick, but I hope its still ok. also, did they state if it was going to be sportlines or pro-kits they would be testing? any reply would be great, THANKS!

Would prefer a manual. Contact info is on Eibach's site, just call and ask for Dave. We didn't talk about sportlines or pro-kits but my objective is a little more toward the Pro-Kit as my understanding is the sportline is a much lower drop and a little more aggressive. I also recall the current springs are the Pro-Kit. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

Additionally there's the fact that the AT XRS is nearly 100 lbs heavier than the MT XRS so having the AT as a reference point would put the drop on the front at a higher point when installed on the MT. I would rather those of you with the AT get a little more drop from the installation as opposed to the other way around...

I will see if I can contact Dave and see how they would factor that all in or if they would at all. Hopefully I'll have some time tomorrow during my lunch.

If it turned out to be the pro-kit, that would be best for my needs, but the only thing that I'm thinking is, why would eibach test out the pro-kit, not the sportlines? sportlines are a lower drop and a stiffer ride, pro-kits only drop about 1.5in so they never really sold too many. but I do hope that they're doing pro-kits. btw thanks for the quick response. I'm at work and was checking back every few mins...haha yeah, any info would be greatly appreciated! thanks Circuit(non)Jerk

Unfortunately not. I have not been able to talk to Dave at Eibach since I've been swamped at work with support calls due to an unforseen issue.
Hopefully tomorrow I will have some time.

I have not even had time to take lunch or even a break at work..it's that nutty!

I WILL do my best to contact him tomorrow.

Update,

I spoke with Dave today and he said he just got an e-mail that he was to be getting an XRS next Monday the 18th.

He said he didn't have any details about the car but that he was just going to test the current springs and see where the drop ends up.
So I will call him around wednesday to see what's up.

WOOHOO!!! I'm their donor!! I'm dropping it off on the 18th. I'll let you guys know how it rides. and take pics. btw it is going to be pro-kits, which I think is perfect, because I used to have sportlines and that was too low for my taste. I just want to kill the tire gap and reduce roll. but anyway.....IM THEIR DONOR!!!!
