Im trying to get wheels/rims for my corolla and was wondering if anybody knows how much it will cost to get the pressure monitor sensor things in the new wheels/rims?

You have 2 issues.

1. You need to see if the factory ones are compatable with the new Wheels. If the wheels are sold at tirerack you can check the site to see. There's a lttle section regarding TPMS under each specific wheel.Otherwise you won't know until it's tried.

2. Cost depends on the installer. I get a lot of mainteance work and buy all my tires from a certain Goodyear shop. They took my sensors out of my stockers, and remounted and balanced the stockers for free. Otherwise it will probably cost you around $60 to have it done unless you are junking the old wheels. (I'm keeping mine for use during the winter).

Well the thing is i like the look of the scion Tc wheels because i saw them on an older corolla. If that helps with whether or not there compatible. Im getting a good deal for the wheels with tires already on them because there were apparently taken off the the showroom and the tires look fresh. I called the dealership around where i live and they told me it was going to cost me 200 a piece and i thought that was a bit outrageous.

Can i still put the sensor on the scion wheels with tires already on them? And is 60 a good average of how much it will cost?

the sensors should mount into the scion wheels...

i know Discount Tire here quoted me $20/wheel to do this placing them into new compatible wheels.

if the wheel you are trying to use will not hold the TPMS sensor in the valve they can still be mounted onto a metal band strapped into the rim. older TPMS systems work this way. toyota has designed the tmps into the valves which i think is stupid as you run the risk of screwing up your sensors when you have your tires changed if your tech is not diligent.

when it comes time for me to replace my tires i'll be using the strap system and just regular valve stems. i was quoted $70 for all 4 wheels to do this at discount tire.

If they,re new $200 each is a steal, especially if they have new tires on them. Where do you get outrageous?

Thanks for you answers so far.

So when i do get these scion wheels, what do i have to do to get the sensors on them. Do i just take them off of the old wheels or do i get new ones place on them.

Also, can any tire place do the install of the tpms or do i have to do it at my dealer?
