Well it depends on how clean you want your car. myself it has to be spotless, most everyone else is ok with road film and dust etc on there vehicle... and sorry but the more you wax it the more it shines, as mentioned in an early thread I dont skimp on the wax either, I use 3 step mothers gold, so one wax job is basically like waxing your car 3 times, talk about shine! hendrix8989 must live in a dream world... after a couple of days my car looks dirty, guess he has no dust or pollen where he lives??? or perhaps it is simply my standards are a tad higher then most other peoples, thats great though because its the slackers out there that makes my car look so good, thanks guys!!

There is pills for that...I am on them...I used to be that way, but life is too short, plus you loose alot of friends when you are that way. The car will be worth the same when you trade it in

lol. okay. i would do the math but its not worth it because its obvious.
you wash the car every day. you use soap, cleaning materials, drying materials, wax, waxing materials, etc. mind you some of the things you need to wash the car takes longer than others to have the need to replace.
how much do you think you will spend on all those cleaning materials? the external costs that you don't worry about?
the time you have lost, the money you have spent for cleaning in the end will even out for the more depreciation deduction because my car's paint is not on par with yours when i trade it in.

Lol, see nows there the difference, I dont worry about it, I enjoy keeping my stuff looking good, its no trouble at all! I dont worry about resale value either, when i stop driving one of my vehicles it goes to the junkyard, drive them tlll they will drive no more. As far as friends go I have plenty. I am a car guy plain and simple!

Canada

I'm a car guy, too, but washing once a day is not my idea, and that's not to judge.

Mine does not get washed between November and March, then in spring once every 2 weeks and in Summer once a month.
Guess I have 10-12 washes a year.

Inside however, my car always is perfectly clean. I hate to sit in a dump.
Outside for me is secondary, I usually sit inside when I drive that thing.

And even having said that I'm a car guy (I do almost all maintenance myself)
it's just a friggin' car. Hehe.

cheers,

Hey! I do all maintenance myself too, and yeah when it comes right down to it, it is just a stupid car, but a shiny one , lol! This is sad (see I know I'm nuts, lol) but I built myself a heated garage just so I could keep vehicles clean through the winter (and stay warm working on them too i suppose). I also have a floater suit (work in aquaculture) that I use to wash cars in the winter... you should see it... here I am in the dooryard covered in ice in february washing the car with a hot water hose, then I back it in the garage to thaw so I can dry it off... sad eh, and I love every minute of it to
