I went to eBay Taiwan and searched for HID headlight for their 08 Altis...It turns out that the original headlight isn't projector style (but halogen setup).
yup they have xenon reflector housings. i saw a video on youtube of one that had the xenon ones and they were reflectors. is that price for one headlight or both? i'm chinese but can't read chinese =P

I'm asian and neither can i read that but i'll give google translate a shot
And according to a Q & A to the seller,
Buyer asked if he could just buy the right headlamp and ballast but the seller said he only serlls it in a group of headlamps which probably means a complete set of 2.
They also come in black housing. I can check on prices if anyone is interested. FYI they are gonna be expensive. The 03-08 Corolla/Altis OEM HID refractor headlights are $700+ for the pair but comes with everything (bulbs, ballasts, wiring, ect..)
Hi,
I am able to read that. I am not sure if the seller is selling a set or just one side since he doesn't state that clearly. But you guys have to be cautious cuz the listing price is only for one, which means if you are buying a set, the price is doubled.
oo yea they do! but too bad its always sooo expensive!
The prices are in New Taiwanese Dollar!!! The items themselves are way cheaper. For instance, the Asian grille I saw last time caused 1,200 NTD. That is only around 40 USD after converted. However, I asked a friend of mine to calculate the shipping and the customs duty. It came out to be around 450 USD, which makes me so disappointed.

HOLY SMOKES!....a 40 dollar grill being charged 11 times as duty?..wow. I guess i will need to wait out for aftermarket projector headlamps for my car.

how fast was the shipping? and would he be claiming the part as a new part sold to you? or is he sending it as a "gift"
usually, when i purchase parts overseas, the seller puts it as a "gift" to get around many of the fees at customs.

The opposite of projector is not halogen. It is reflector.
There are projectors and reflectors for both HID and Halogen. They do have different designs though, to aim the light correctly.
Factory HID reflectors are good.
I would recommend getting them from a LHD country though.

Hmm, my Altis grille came out to a little under $150 shipped

How come? I'm sure there is a good reason, but I can't think of what it would be.
