Is it possible to get an 09 LE/XLE with leather? and what kind of price? I dont want navi or upgraded audio or anything else. i just want my butt to be happy on nice leather.
Nope, there is no availability for leather on anything but the S and XRS at this point. I figure the XLE will probably get leather at some point, but not yet.
You can get aftermarket leather installed, but you have to be willing to take the risk that the seat-mounted airbags may not work properly.
They make leather install kits that are designed to work with the airbags, but they will not make any guarantees.
Hmm... I don't understand why people like leather seats... they're too hot when it's hot and they're too cold when it's cold.
They make seat heaters for leather seats, but unfortunately, you still have to sit on the ice cold seats while you wait for the heaters to work.
You can throw a big white towel over the seats in summer.

Depends on the leather. Synthetic ones are hella cold and heat up faster. Good quality ones that are softer and supple take a little longer to heat up or at least aren't as hot as synthetic ones. (I'm thinking Lexus/BMW quality)

i like leather because its a but more durable than cloth.
alright, i'll check and see if my dealer can do a custom order. if not i'll just wait.
My cloth seats still looked like new past the time when I see newer cars with weathered and cracked leather.
The dealer can get aftermarket leather installed (and you can hope the side airbags will still deploy as designed). They cannot have factory leather installed since it isn't an option for that model Corolla, so it won't be built.

Obviously they didn't take care of the leather. You have to recondition the leather (the interval depends where you live. More often if you in the southern states with the intense sunlight). Cloth is lower maintenance.

I like leather more because it's easier to clean. The cloth seats absorb dust more, while with the leather, it just sits on the surface and you can wipe it off.

Vacuuming the seats at the car wash is no more effort than wiping down leather. Plus it needs no special conditioning.
Scotchgaurd could be applied to the cloth, but since I don't spill things, I have no Scotchgaurd and I still have no stains.

Jeff
bump.
toyota.com website still does not offer leather on xle at this point. sorta odd. even if sales of leather were slow on the xle, i still think the top-of-the-line 2zr-fe-powered corolla should at least get leather as an option.
any insider info to whether the xle will ever get leather?
edit: i was looking at the toyota website earlier, and was a bit surprised to see no leather on the xle up to now, so i wondered (searched) around TN and came upon this thread, hence...
Toyota has made no mention that any models will get leather. If any will, I would not expect it for 2009 models, but at the earliest 2010, which won't be released until mid-2009.
